Fabulous Foyer!!!

This is what our foyer and closet has looked like for the 10 years we have lived here...only messier!  The hall was okay but the closet a glorified junk drawer.  The hall was rockin' it '90s style with two tone walls and wall paper border (that I picked out with love) and Sexyman was ready for some updating.

Check out what can happen when you crank up the Sirius Radio to the 80's station and jam while you and your husband paint the walls (burnt almond) and trim (breakfast blend)!!!

Here is the REAL treat!!!  Got this great idea at http://keephomesimple.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-and-improved-hallway-closet.html  No more closet door...painted interior...lamp...clothes rod removed...carpeted floor...

...key hook on side wall to grab keys as we leave the house...
...cute "L" and "C" wall hooks on other side wall for my Cowboy and Mini-Belle to hang their coats and backpacks on in the afternoons!  Couldn't be happier!!!

Uh Oh, Y'all...

I really never should have bought that bag of various size paint brushes at Hobby Lobby a  few months ago.  I mean, I just can't quit finding things to paint!  If I don't stop, my 1300 square feet of wall space here at the Triple P is going to be absolutely FULL of DIY crafts. I don't think my cowboy husband will like it, although I do live with two deer carcases flanking my living room fireplace but that is a subject for another day and believe me...I can make THAT conversation last all day.  Anyhoo, I came across this piece of scrap wood the other day and it was just the cutest little shape and size.  I finally decided that the Triple P was in desperate need of some kind of SWEET TEA reference since this OkieBelle has an addiction to it...again, another conversation for another day.  I got out the craft paints and paint brushes (my favorite part) and found my sand paper and stain.  Found a cutie-pie font and printed out my lettering.  Once the words were done, I saned it as much as I could and then added the stain.  I actually put on several layers of stain until I found the deep color I was wanting.  After each coat, I wiped it off with a paper towel after letting is sit and marinate a few minutes.  I am pretty happy with the results and can't wait to display it...somewhere!  Now, what is that piece of wood hiding behind those plastic tubs in the corner over there in the garage...

My Faux Cricut!

I would LOVE a Cricut machine!  I see all these blogs with projects that used the Cricut to create beautiful vinyl lables and things like that.  Oh, I have shopped for the best deal on Cricuts and alas...even a good sale means handing over $300 for the thing!  Well, I found these pretty stickers that would make great labels at Hobby Lobby!  And oh how perfect...they were 1/2 off!  That means I forked over an entire $1.50!  That is way more in my budget.

Look at the new label on my flour!
 Look at the Brown Sugar!
 Check out the sugar!
Aren't they purty?  Did I mention I got the canisters at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off a few weeks ago??????
Here is what they looked like "before" my faux Cricut got to them!
