Ladies Luncheon

We had our Ladies Spring Luncheon at church today. My homegirl A-Zerg and I had to decorate two tables. We chose to do one spring table and one country table. It was tons of fun! We bought all our spring stuff at Hobby Lobby. It was leftover Easter stuff that was 90% off! Talk about stickin' it to the man! Anyway, the country table was easy because we used a lot of stuff from my kitchen! Well, I already have ideas for NEXT year's tables...

Little Crafts for Little Libby

I have discovered the best little blog by a very crafty lady. It is http://www.jmdesignandco.blogspot.com/. The blog title is "A Pocket Full of Posies" and she makes some beautiful crafts and also has an amazing craft room!!! Well, I simply have a craft CLOSET that consists of 2 shelves crammed full of ribbon, scrapbook supplies, hot glue guns, markers, stamps, fabric and other various craft supplies. Well, after searching through her site, I found some cute flip flops she made her girls and I liked the way she used pinking shears on the fabric before she tied them on the flip flops. I have made Libby and I this kind of flip flops before but I was feeling crafty and whipped up a few more for this coming summer. She also made these bob-bon necklaces. I bought the supplies at Hobby Lobby for $6 and just used some fabric I already had and voila...cutie patootie necklace! I am going to make me one to match!

Laundry Room Bliss!

Well...here it is in all of its tiny glory! I still have to paint all the trim and the door but it is pretty much done. I removed all the cabinet doors and painted the inside of the cabinets. I got several different sizes of baskets at Hobby Lobby for all my supplies and modge podged some tags for them. I seriously could not be any happier with the way it turned out. I just want to stand in there and look at it!

A few things...

So...I made this chalkboard to hang in our bedroom. I actually saw the verse and then had to figure out a way to get it in our house!!! I know...CHALKBOARD!!! Anyway, I picked up the tray at the Dollar Tree and got the ribbon at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and here you go. I need to work on my handwriting a bit.
Decided to get crazy and make Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls. Messed up my kitchen BIG TIME but my Sexyman cleaned it all up. He is so handy (and sexy).
So...the bread box...I bought it at a garage sale this weekend and well, I just couldn't leave it there. I only paid $2 but I don't have a plan for it. It is too big for my kitchen counter so that is out. It just has SOOOO much potential and like I said, I just couldn't leave it there. You know, I've recently got reacquainted with my spray painting skills...

God Bless Spray Paint

Here are a few pics of updates I did for the kitchen with a can of spray paint. We were looking for a new dining room light to replace the 1970's gold chandelier we had when my mom said, rather brilliantly, "Just spray paint it!". Well...we did! I even covered the light posts with some cool gingham wrapping paper I had (got that idea from a magazine) and I love the result. So I'm looking around at some other crafty blogs the other night and I come across a few different folks who have spray painted their knife block. It looked really cool so I tried it and I think it looks great. Well, I just couldn't stop there...I spray painted my cookbook stand, too. Good thing that spray paint can was finally empty...

On another note, I finally found a spot for that cute chalkboard sign I made...I put it exactly in the spot where I had the original magazine quote taped! Oh yeah, I also came home from the grocery tonight to find my Sexyman had been working on his tool bench while I was gone. He made me this cool sign to hang in the kitchen. It is official...we ARE the Triple P!

Family Fun Day!!!

Well, we decided to take a little family field trip Easter Weekend. We didn't tell the kids where we were going, just on a "Family Fun Day". We started off at our home away from home (Cracker Barrel) for some breakfast. Then we headed to Arcadia to make a visit to the round barn. The kids LOVED it!!! My little cowboy couldn't get enough of all the Route 66 stuff. I think Route 66 signs are the only thing he loves more then stop signs. Driving with him in the car is always an adventure when he points out EVERY stop sign and Route 66 sign. Well, after the round barn we made a stop at Pops for some...POP!!! I got a Dublin Dr. Pepper made in Dublin, Texas which is the oldest DP bottling company in America. It is made with pure cane sugar and I just couldn't drink it all...WAY TOO SWEET (but still Divine!). My Sexyman got a bottle of Moxie and the babies each got a Route 66 black cherry pop. I think they liked their straws more then the drink. If you have never been to Pops, it is SOOO worth the drive. If you have time to wait for a table, their burgers are phenomenal. If you go on a Saturday, be prepared for at least an hour wait for a table but if it is just the cool drink you are wanting, you can get that after just a few minutes in line. Anyway, we finished off our day fishing in Guthrie. My Sexyman has a buddy from work who owns a bunch of land with a great fishing pond on it. He gave us permission to use it anytime so we put the kids' fishing poles in the back of the ole' family truckster before we left without them knowing. They were so exited when we drove back to the pond and we got their fishing gear out! They were so surprised. On our way home, before they fell asleep, my mini belle asked, "Can EVERY Saturday be family fun day?" Maybe not every Saturday but we will definitely make more time to go on field trips together.

I just can't stop with the chalk!!!

I made this cute sign to hang above the kids' potty in their bathroom. It is a tray I got from Target for $2.50. I figure I can change the message to fit the season. I also made this little sign for the kitchen. I had this quote out of a magazine just taped to the cabinet door. Now I have to find somewhere to hang it. I am now always looking for things to turn into a chalk board!!!

The bedding is here!!! The bedding is here!!!

After a full year of searching for what I really wanted (I wasn't sure WHAT I wanted) and sleeping under a quilted throw and a mismatch of pillow shams (I just needed something until I found the perfect stuff) and saving up my allowance (actually, I designated my JBF Consignment sale money for my purchase) I finally picked up our master bedroom bedding from the JC Penny catalog department at the mall today. It took about an hour of ironing but it is FINALLY on the bed and looks perfect!!!!! It even matches the freshly painted walls in the shade of "Brown Tepee". I love it even more in person!!! We had the same bedding since we were married 11 years ago and while we loved it, it was in shabby shape. This is a fresh change.
